Among the particularly important values, especially when considering the complementary relationships between education, physical education, local studies, tourism, recreation, sports, as well as pedagogy and physical culture sciences, time is increasingly mentioned.

The shift in the perspective on this category of value in shaping an individual's personality indicates that we are approaching a society of time. School and professional activities, along with leisure time, will no longer be distinct poles but will intersect and overlap.

As a result of numerous societal demands and expectations, since September 1981, our country has adopted a five-day work and school week. Consequently, the amount of leisure time has significantly increased, which in turn has raised the importance of its organization and use for the multifaceted development of the personality of children, adolescents, and adults. Are we able to make use of this opportunity?

An enormous role in preparing the younger generation of Poles for the organization and productive use of leisure time is assigned to extracurricular and out-of-school activities. My book, Extracurricular and Out-of-School Education, is intended to assist in this regard. The first edition quickly sold out after a few months.

Following the first edition of this publication, very positive reviews appeared in educational and local studies journals such as Adult Continuing Education, Academic Forum, Educational Beacon, Leader, Know Your Country, We Wander, Daily Education, and Scientific Notebooks of Koszalin Higher School of Humanities. These reviews were written by experts in the field, known for setting high standards for cognitive, methodological, and didactic quality of publications.
