Bolesław Andrzejewski, Opera Selecta, wstęp Anna Zbaraszewska
The year 2021 marks the 75th birthday of Professor Bolesław Andrzejewski, the first Rector of the Mieszko I School of Pedagogy and Administration in Poznań (now the Mieszko I Academy of Applied Sciences in Poznań). To commemorate Professor Andrzejewski's jubilee, the university's publishing house has released a two-volume work titled Opera selecta, which is a collection of the most important publications from the extensive body of work of the jubilarian. Although reading this work will require considerable patience from the reader, as Opera selecta comprises over 1,000 pages in total, it is certain that philosophy enthusiasts will not find it boring. One of the publication's strengths is undoubtedly the gathering in one place of the philosophical concepts of the most important thinkers from different eras, enriched with the author's insightful commentary.
The preface by the editor, intriguingly titled "On the Art of Shaping One's Life, or Professor Bolesław Andrzejewski's Journey to the Heights of the Humanities," is particularly worth reading. Not everyone may be aware of the scientific wealth of the jubilarian, his interesting life path, and organizational talents. It is worth getting to know these aspects, especially since philosophy is the foundation of all other sciences, focused on and for humanity. Therefore, it is not an exaggeration to say that Opera selecta could find a place on the bookshelf of both students from the Social Sciences faculties and those from the Medical Sciences. However, it should be noted that due to the size of both volumes, you may need to allocate a bit more space, but that is merely a logistical matter.
Volumes I and II.
