Aesthetic Medicine - Programme

The study programme comprises a total of approximately 300 hours, classes are held in the form of nine cyclical meetings during the academic year in the months of October to June, two days per month (one weekend) - Saturday: 9.00-17.00; Sunday: 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. Theoretical and practical classes are held on the premises of the ANSM and on the premises of the medical units cooperating with the school.

Staff:
The lecturers at the Centre for Aesthetic Medicine at ANSM are specialists in aesthetic medicine and specialists from medical faculties related to aesthetic medicine. We also welcome foreign lecturers, from Europe and the USA.


First year programme


  1. Elements of anatomy, physiology immunology of organs undergoing aesthetic procedures.

  2. Skin, hair, nails: structure and physiology, histopathology. Effects of chemical, physical and radiation agents on the skin.

  3. Pathophysiology of skin and tissue ageing. Aesthetic and cosmetic methods of preventing and treating the consequences of skin ageing.

  4. The role of the preventive and anti-ageing physician in planning medical aesthetics therapy.

  5. Aesthetic dermatology.

  6. Plastic and aesthetic surgery in the treatment of skin cancer.

  7. Influence of internal diseases on the ageing processes of the skin and the human body. Selected endocrinological, cardiovascular aspects.

  8. The role of exercise and sport on organismal ageing processes and aesthetic aspects of tissue function.

  9. The role of rational nutrition in aesthetic medicine.

  10. Botulinum toxin - theory and practice of use in medicine and aesthetic procedures.

  11. Plastic surgery. Information essential for aesthetic medicine.

  12. Augmentation techniques.

  13. Cosmetic dentistry.

  14. Aesthetic gynaecology.

  15. Threads - applications in aesthetic medicine.

  16. Patient and staff in an aesthetic practitioner's office.

  17. Proper record keeping.

  18. Modern skin and tissue imaging methods and techniques used in aesthetic medicine

 

Second year programme


  1. Vascular surgery - elements used in aesthetic medicine. Sclerotherapy, laser and RF techniques in the treatment of vascular lesions.

  2. Psychodermatology.

  3. Medical cosmetics- treatments used in aesthetic medicine.

  4. Fundamentals of pharmacology and toxicology applied to aesthetic medicine. Allergology.

  5. Peeling and its application in aesthetic medicine.

  6. Emergency management in the aesthetic medicine practice.

  7. Complications and side effects of aesthetic treatments.

  8. Fundamentals of sociology. Selected aspects of psychology in doctor-patient interactions.

  9. Laser-based medical treatment techniques used in aesthetic medicine.

  10. Laser rejuvenation techniques. Medical techniques for the correction of aesthetic defects of the face and lower limbs and figure;

  11. Management and marketing in aesthetic medicine.

  12. Legal aspects of the practice of aesthetic medicine

  13. Aesthetic treatments using blood products.
