Philology - undergraduate studies

Education in the field of Philology – studies of the first degree lasts six semesters (three years) and ends with a diploma exam. The field of study includes the specialty English Philology. Graduates of philological studies will have similar knowledge of the language of specialty at the level of at leastC1 (according to ESOKJ). Fluent language skills will be complemented by knowledge of foreign language learning and teaching, as well as knowledge of the literature, history and culture of the country of the language of specialty.

Specialties:

English philology with a legal and business module

The graduate gains knowledge and competences useful in the business environment, where communication in a foreign language plays a large role. He is familiar with the principles of operation of the enterprise and with knowledge of the basic disciplines of law. Students pursue a module of legal subjects and develop in a particularly intensive way communication competences in the field of business language (both basic and additional language). They improve their practical skills during internships held in law firms, companies or institutions with an international scope.

Professional perspectives:

The acquired knowledge and interdisciplinary skills will allow graduates to take up work in the broadly understood legal and business sector in positions that require communication in a specialized language, including intercultural competences and basic knowledge.

English philology with teaching qualifications

The graduate is substantive and practically prepared to conduct classes in the language of specialization as a teacher. Students carry out a module of pedagogical, psychological and didactic subjects. They learn the specificity of the teaching profession during internships held in kindergartens and schools under the supervision of their teachers and under the supervision of experienced PAM methodologies and didactics.

Professional perspectives:

The studies form the basis on which the graduate will develop his qualifications at the II degree studies. In accordance with the MEiN Regulation on teacher qualifications, in force from October 3, 2023, a specialist teacher may be a person who has completed I and II degree studies or uniform master studies.
