It is difficult to imagine responsible human activity in the modern world without taking care of the local environment. During the scientific conference "Local Environment - Government, Local Government and Civic Initiatives" we will look at the ways in which we create external conditions that favor treating nature not as an object, but as a subject - in a morally, socially and legally impeccable way, with the perspective of improving the conditions in which we live. Both government and local government institutions and social organizations are involved in such activities. We would like to show that various initiatives at different levels create conditions under which every citizen can act for the benefit of his local environment, of which he is a part.

Opening of the conference - Dr. Anna Gapinskaya (15 min.).

Conference speeches:

1.      Dr. Simon Pickering - Member of the British Antarctic Research Society, Councillor of the Strout Municipality: "Action against climate change in the example of the Strout Municipality" (30 min.).

2.      Ms. Agnieszka Tolwińska - Wielkopolska Inspectorate for Animal Protection, Psi Asylum Foundation: "Legal and practical aspects of animal protection" (30 min.).

3.      Dr. Paulina Wisniewska: "Educational aspects of environmental problems" and presentations of research activities in the local environment by students of WNS, PAM Branch in Wągrowiec (45 min)
