Get to know the direction Physiotherapy
Graduates of the physiotherapy programme possess the in-depth knowledge and skills required to carry out functional diagnostic assessments and to plan, implement and monitor the physiotherapy process; as a result, they are fully prepared for further academic development and, upon passing the state examination, to practise as physiotherapists and run their own physiotherapy practice. Graduates will be able to find employment in hospital wards, healthcare facilities catering for people with disabilities, sports centres, rehabilitation clinics, research units, private treatment practices, or in academic and teaching roles at universities. Completing the Physiotherapy programme opens up a wide range of employment opportunities both in Poland and abroad, enables students to continue their research and teaching activities, and provides the opportunity to undertake third-cycle studies.
An additional advantage of the Physiotherapy course is the opportunity to obtain a Massage Therapist diploma after just two years of study! As part of the Physiotherapy course, classes are held at a post-secondary college. After two years of study and passing the state examination confirming their professional qualifications, students are awarded the title of Massage Therapist. This enables graduates to gain additional qualifications, which broaden their career prospects and enhance their competitiveness in the labour market.
Additional Information for Prospective Students Regarding the Specifics of the Physical Therapy Program.
Before the start of the academic year and before beginning their clinical internships, students must have:
- An accident insurance policy (NNW) and a civil liability insurance policy (OC);
- A medical certificate, as required by the Regulation of the Minister of Health of 26 August 2019 on medical examinations for school applicants (Journal of Laws 2019, item 1651, as amended);
- Certificate for public health and epidemiological purposes;
- Certificate/proof of vaccination against hepatitis B;
- Certificate of no criminal record, issued pursuant to Article 21(3) of the Act of 13 May 2016 on countering the risks of sexual offences and the protection of minors (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 560).

Specializations of the direction Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy for older people
Students will gain in-depth knowledge in the following areas: gerontology, diseases of the elderly, geriatric rehabilitation, physical activity, geriatric nursing, psychology, and medical equipment. They will learn about the challenges faced by the elderly. Graduates of this program will be able to find employment in hospitals and clinics in geriatric wards, in therapeutic and rehabilitation centers for the elderly, and in nursing homes; they will also be prepared to start their own rehabilitation businesses.
Sports Physical Therapy with Elements of Wellness
Students will gain knowledge in the fields of kinesiotherapy, physical therapy, and hydrotherapy in sports, as well as sports taping and many other topics. They will gain knowledge about the most common injuries and their comprehensive rehabilitation; furthermore, they will become familiar with a wide range of methods used in wellness and recovery among athletes. Practical classes are held in specialized laboratories, while clinical classes take place in specialized clinical facilities.

In accordance with the ACT of September 25, 2015, on the profession of physical therapist, and the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of September 26, 2016, on the conditions for conducting degree programs, starting with the 2017/2018 academic year, we have been accepting applications for a single-cycle master’s degree program in physical therapy. The single-cycle master’s degree program lasts 5 years (10 semesters) and includes a professional internship, which is considered an integral part of the program. Graduates are awarded a master’s degree without the right to practice. Completion of the program entitles graduates to take the State Physical Therapy Examination (PEF); upon passing this exam, they obtain the right to practice.
