Purpose of study
The aim of the programme is to enable students to obtain the qualifications and authorisation required to run their own therapeutic practice, work in speech and language therapy clinics, and work in hospital wards. Furthermore, those with a background in education will also gain the qualifications to work as therapeutic teachers in institutions within the Polish education system, including special schools and those with inclusive classes.
Graduates of the programme possess theoretical and practical knowledge in the diagnosis of speech and language disorders, the provision of speech and language therapy for both children and adults, and the implementation of preventive measures to avert speech and language disorders. They are equipped to work with patients with disabilities thanks to their mastery of topics in special education and diagnostic methods in special needs education.
Addresses
The programme is aimed at those who hold a first- or second-cycle degree or a single-cycle Master’s degree. Prospective students should have good hearing and be able to speak fluently and with correct pronunciation. If you are unsure, please consult a speech and language therapist.
A condition for admission to the course is the submission, at the time of application, of a certificate from a speech and language therapist or a phoniatrist confirming that there are no medical contraindications to practising as a speech and language therapist.
Curriculum
The course lasts 4 semesters and comprises:
- 600 hours of teaching
- 180 hours of work experience.
Classes take place on average twice a month at the weekend (Saturday and Sunday), from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm, in a hybrid format using the Zoom platform.
Strengths of the course
- teaching staff – these are mainly practitioners with many years’ experience,
- practical sessions in the form of practical exercises and workshops,
- you will learn about both the theoretical and practical principles of speech and language therapy – so that you can provide a child or an adult with the necessary support during the diagnostic and therapeutic process,
- You have the opportunity to pursue a new and rewarding career with a wide range of specialisation options in fields such as neuro-speech therapy, audiological speech therapy, speech therapy for people with intellectual disabilities, and early intervention speech therapy.
Tuition fees: 20 instalments of 440 zł
