During their studies, students acquire a thorough understanding of human anatomy and physiology, as well as a broad overview of clinical subjects. They develop practical skills through intensive training in specialist laboratories, as well as during clinical sessions and work placements in hospital wards. Upon completing their bachelor’s degree, nurses have a wide range of opportunities for professional development. Nursing specialisations and qualification courses enable them to acquire additional skills and competences. Master’s degree programmes and a wide range of postgraduate courses enable nurses to embark on a career in research and teaching, as well as to take up roles related to the organisation of the healthcare system.

- Before the start of the academic year and before commencing practical classes or work placements, students must have:
- An accident insurance policy (NNW) and a civil liability insurance policy (OC);
- A medical certificate, as required by the Regulation of the Minister of Health of 26 August 2019 on medical examinations for school applicants (Journal of Laws 2019, item 1651, as amended);
- Certificate for public health and epidemiological purposes;
- Certificate/proof of vaccination against hepatitis B;
- Certificate of no criminal record, issued pursuant to Article 21(3) of the Act of 13 May 2016 on countering the risks of sexual offences and the protection of minors (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 560).

During the course, students acquire in-depth knowledge of: human anatomy and physiology, microbiology, genetics, radiology and the fundamentals of nursing care. The programme is organised around afternoon classes on Thursdays and Fridays, as well as Saturday–Sunday sessions. All classes take place in teaching clinics located in Nowy Tomyśl, as well as in district hospitals, long-term care facilities and primary healthcare centres. As part of their specialist modules, students gain an understanding of, amongst other things, internal medicine, surgical, psychiatric and neurological nursing.
