Conditions for taking the exam and declarations

Below you will find the rules and conditions for taking the exam, descriptions of procedures and required declarations for diploma theses for the fields of study at the Poznań Medical University.

Conditions for taking the exam
Diploma Examination Procedure
  • Passing all subjects, exams and professional practice.
  • The diploma examination is held before a commission appointed by the Dean of the Faculty. The commission consists of: the Chairman and two members.
  • During the diploma examination, the Student should demonstrate knowledge of a given field of study and knowledge of issues from the group of specialist professional activities he or she has chosen.
  • The diploma exam is an oral exam. The student answers 3 questions from a pool of 100. The student draws one from the category of direction questions, two from the group of specialized professional activities.
  • The student prepares to answer within the time specified by the committee.
In second cycle studies
  • The diploma examination is held before a commission appointed by the Dean of the Faculty. The commission consists of: Chairman, Supervisor and Reviewer.
  • During the diploma examination, the Student answers two questions from the thesis supervisor and one question from the Reviewer.

Verification of the diploma thesis

Uniform Anti-Plagiarism System

Before registering a diploma thesis in the Dean’s Office of the University, the supervisor verifies the diploma thesis in the Uniform Anti-plagiarism System. Based on this analysis, the supervisor decides whether the thesis can be admitted to the diploma exam or not. Below is a document containing detailed information on the criteria for plagiarism.

The diploma thesis should be printed on both sides and bound in a stiff cover (1 copy). The student determines with the thesis supervisor whether the remaining 2 copies of the diploma thesis (1 copy for the supervisor and 1 copy for the reviewer) are to be submitted in printed form or in electronic form to the e-mail address of the supervisor and reviewer.

You submit your prepared diploma thesis to the appropriate dean’s office, along with a CD on which you place an electronic copy of your thesis. Both the CD with your diploma thesis and the paper case in which it is located should be described in detail (name and surname, title of the thesis, field of study, form of studies, year of taking the diploma exam).

Information about collecting your diploma

Receiving your diploma

The Dean’s Office issues a diploma within 30 days of the date of passing the diploma exam (with a positive result). The diploma can be collected during the Dean’s Office hours.

When collecting your diploma, you must:

  • a circulation card (available for download from the University website, the Dean’s Office or the Library) completed by the University’s Bursary and Library (dates entered on the circulation card cannot exceed 30 days),
  • student ID to pass (unless the student wishes to continue with master’s studies).
