Information about scholarships
The Scholarship Committee informs that scholarships in the current academic year are awarded for each semester separately – that is, for a single 5-month period. Applications for the next semester can be submitted from March.

In the upcoming academic year 2024-2025, PAM students will be able to apply for scholarship benefits for good academic results, as well as sports and artistic achievements. The university also offers support in the form of scholarships for disabled people, students in difficult financial situations, or those affected by various types of random events.

Students from Poznań submit applications at the library, while students from the branches submit applications at the dean’s offices during the units’ opening hours.

Scholarship benefits are not available to:
- students with a professional title of Master of Science, Master of Engineering or equivalent;
- Bachelor’s degree, Engineer’s degree or equivalent if resuming first-cycle studies.
Time and rules for obtaining benefits
Benefits are available for a maximum of 12 semesters*, regardless of whether the student received a scholarship or not – the number of semesters started is what counts.
During this period, benefits are provided for students:
- first cycle – no longer than 9 semesters;
- second cycle — no longer than 7 semesters.
The scholarship may be received for only one field of study.
Receiving benefits for a second field of study is illegal.
* The total period of eligibility for scholarship benefits is longer if the student has undertaken a uniform Master’s degree programme, the duration of which is specified in the law as 11 or 12 semesters.

What are the conditions for obtaining a scholarship?
Rector’s scholarship for academic achievements
In the academic year 2024/2025, the average grade constituting the basis for applying for the Rector’s scholarship cannot be lower than:
- 4.20 for students studying at the Faculty of Medicine, PAM
- 4.40 for students studying in the fields of study conducted at the Faculty of Medical Sciences and the field of Nursing at the Faculty of Social and Medical Sciences, PAM Branch in Nowy Tomyśl;
- 4.60 for students studying other fields of study at the Poznań University of Medical Sciences. Prince Mieszko I.
Social scholarship
It is available to students whose family income per person in the household does not exceed PLN 1,570.50 net. A student whose monthly income per person in the family does not exceed the amount of the income criterion entitling to apply for social assistance benefits (currently – PLN 600 net, from January 1, 2025 – PLN 823 net) per person in the family and (PLN 776, from January 1, 2025 – PLN 1,010) for a person running a household alone, attaches to the application for a social scholarship a certificate from the social welfare center on the income and property situation of himself and his family. Failure to attach such a certificate results in the refusal to grant a social scholarship.

Can international students apply for a scholarship?
Can international students apply for a scholarship? Non-Polish students who started their studies in Poland in the academic year 2019/2020 or later can apply for:
- Rector’s scholarship,
- scholarship for disabled people,
- allowance.
Foreign students who can apply for a social scholarship and a student loan:
- have a permanent residence permit or are long-term EU residents,
- have a temporary residence permit in connection with the circumstances referred to in Article 159 paragraph 1 or Article 186 paragraph 1 point 3 or 4 of the Act on Foreigners,
- have refugee status granted in the Republic of Poland or are granted temporary protection or subsidiary protection in the territory of the Republic of Poland,
- have a certificate confirming knowledge of Polish as a foreign language at least at the C1 language proficiency level,
- have a Polish Card or a decision confirming Polish origin,
- are a spouse, ancestor or descendant of a Polish citizen, residing in the territory of the Republic of Poland.
When can I apply for the scholarship?
Application deadlines and current application forms for download can be found on the university website after the start of each academic year. The table contains the application schedule for individual courses in the winter semester of the academic year 2024/25.
Where can I apply for a scholarship?
Applications can be submitted to the Dean’s Office at ul. Bułgarska 55 in Poznań, to the relevant Dean’s Offices of the external faculties, or sent (after scanning and saving as a pdf file, with all required signatures) to the following address: stypendia.zapomogi@pam.poznan.pl
Can applications be completed electronically or do they have to be completed by hand?
The application can be completed electronically, but must be handwritten.
I have completed my Bachelor's/Master's degree. Am I eligible for any scholarships?
The benefits are available for first-cycle studies, second-cycle studies and uniform master’s studies for a maximum of 12 semesters (see point. Benefits are not available to students with a professional title:
- Master’s degree, Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent;
- Bachelor’s degree, Engineer’s degree or equivalent if resuming first-cycle studies.
In accordance with art. 93, section 4 of the Higher Education Act of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended), the maximum period in which a student is entitled to benefits is 12 semesters (the semesters in which the student did not receive a scholarship also count).
For first-cycle studies, the maximum period is 9 semesters, for second-cycle studies – 7 semesters.
The total period referred to in paragraph 4 is longer by 2 semesters in the case when the student has undertaken uniform Master’s studies, the duration of which specified in the provisions of law is 11 or 12 semesters.
Can you have more than one scholarship at a time?
Yes, you can receive the Rector’s scholarship, a social scholarship and a scholarship for disabled persons at the same time, but you cannot receive the same type of scholarship (e.g. the Rector’s scholarship) for two (or more) fields of study or universities at the same time.
Do I have to re-apply for the scholarship in the summer semester?
Yes. The second semester application schedule will appear at the beginning of the summer semester.
Am I eligible for financial assistance due to a chronic illness?
If a student finds himself/herself in a difficult financial situation due to long-term illness (or other reasons), he/she may apply for a one-off allowance.
If you study two fields at the same time, can you receive a scholarship for each?
No, the scholarship is only available for one field of study.
Is it possible to appeal a negative decision regarding a scholarship?
Yes, the student has the right to file an appeal with justification and a copy of the decision of the Scholarship Committee. Appeals can be filed at the Library at ul. Świerzawska18 in Poznań, at the appropriate dean’s offices of the branch faculties, or sent (after scanning and saving as a pdf file, with all required signatures) to the e-mail address: stypendia.zapomogi@pam.poznan.pl
How do I find out if I have been awarded a scholarship?
The list of decisions of the Scholarship Committee will be posted on the university website in the “Scholarships and discounts” tab and in the news. Decisions can be collected in the Library at ul. Świerzawska 18 in Poznań, in the appropriate dean’s offices of the branch faculties. At the student’s request submitted via e-mail (to the address: studia.zapomogi@pam.poznan.pl), the Committee may, in justified cases, send a scan of the decision electronically.
When can I expect my scholarship payment?
The first tranche of funds will be transferred to the student’s designated bank account after the Scholarship Committee’s decision is announced on the university’s website. The first transfer will include repayment from the beginning of the academic year – i.e. if, for example, the first transfer is in the student’s account in November, they will receive the total amount for October and November.
Is the scholarship available during dean’s leave?
During the leave, the student retains the right to receive social, disabled and rector’s scholarships.
If I receive a social grant, can I apply for assistance?
Yes, using other forms of support is not an obstacle to applying for assistance.
In what situations are you eligible for assistance?
The allowance may be granted to a student who, due to unforeseen circumstances, has temporarily found themselves in a difficult financial situation, including due to: an accident, a serious illness documented by a medical certificate, the death of a member of the immediate family, a theft committed to their detriment, a natural disaster (flood, fire).
How often can you apply for assistance?
A student may receive two allowances during an academic year.
Under what conditions can a student be considered an independent person and apply for a social grant without taking into account the income of family or legal guardians?
A student may be considered an independent person and apply for a social scholarship without taking into account the income of family or legal guardians if he or she meets at least one of the following conditions:
- is over 26 years old,
- is married,
- has minor children to support, children studying up to the age of 26, and if the 26th year of life falls in the last year of studies, until their completion, and disabled children regardless of age,
- reached the age of majority while in foster care,
- has a permanent source of income and his/her average monthly income in the previous tax year and in the current year in the months preceding the month of submitting the Declaration of Income is higher than or equal to 1.15 of the sum of the amounts specified in art. 5 sec. 1 and art. 6 sec. 2 item 3 of the Act of 28 November 2003 on family benefits (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 390, as amended), hereinafter referred to as the Act on Family Benefits (only in Polish – https://isap.sejm.gov.pl/isap.nsf/download.xsp/WDU20032282255/U/D20032255Lj.pdf (PDF, 634KB)), i.e. PLN 1,396.00 (net).
